Um die Collection Matières zu bereichern, wollte ich mich auf die Tonkabohne konzentrieren, ein Material, das in der Parfümerie oft verwendet, aber zu selten in den Vordergrund gestellt wird. Es ist ein tiefgründiges Material, voller Kontraste, das manchmal an Vanilleleder oder die Süße von Mandeln erinnert aber auch schokoladige Facetten offenbart. Für Velvet Tonka wollte ich meine marokkanische Herkunft würdigen, aber auch die Ikonographie, die durch Aromen und Landschaften mit dieser Region der Welt verbunden ist. Das Parfüm Velvet Tonka basiert auf einer Trilogie aus Tonkabohne, Mandel und Orangenblüte gelegen auf einem Amber-Hintergrund. Der holzige Samt-Akkord, der um Amyris-Holz aufgebaut ist, drückt sich durch eine Honig-Vanille-Note aus, sanft aber mit einer süchtig machenden und pudrigen Note.
